WISHART HUGELY DISAPPOINTED BY SAINSBURY’S PITLOCHRY PULL OUT

Published date : 07 August, 2015

Perth and North Perthshire MP Pete Wishart is very disappointed by the decision made by Sainsbury’s to pull out of building a store in Pitlochry.

 Mr Wishart said:

“I am hugely disappointed by news that Sainsbury’s have decided to pull out of their commitment to a store in Pitlochry. I know from speaking to the community that there was solid backing for this project and I am saddened that the community has had to wait so long for this news. I understand that the way the UK retail market operates is ever changing but after the decision not to build in Perth and now Pitlochry, it seems as if Sainsbury’s are abandoning Perthshire all together.

“The potential jobs that could have been created by this development would have been significant for the community and I am very disappointed that this will not now go ahead. I will be seeking clarification from Sainsbury’s in the coming days over their intentions for the future of the development as the last thing Pitlochry needs is the site sitting empty for years to come”
