WISHART AND SWINNEY TO ATTEND BLAIRGOWRIE DRILL HALL OUTREACH PRESENTATIONS

Mr John Swinney, Member of the Scottish Parliament for North Tayside and Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Sustainable Growth and Mr Pete Wishart, Member of Parliament for Perth and North Perthshire will tomorrow  be attending the Blairgowrie Drill Hall Outreach presentations.

Mr Swinney said before the presentations:

“I am looking forward to meeting with, and presenting trophies to, the competing teams from the various local primary schools in Blairgowrie, Coupar Angus and Alyth.

“The skills learned by cadets are vital for use now and in later life. I am delighted to be involved with these awards which promote achievement, discipline, and good citizenship.”

Mr Wishart added:

“I have long been a supporter of our local cadets and was honoured last year to present the inaugural Westminster Cup, which recognises adult support to the Army Cadet Force in Blairgowrie and East Perthshire.

“Young people are far too often negatively represented and stereotyped by our media these days and I am looking forward to being part of recognising and congratulating local talent and leadership in our community.”
