WISHART TO MEET WITH SUCCESSFUL TOWN CENTRE FUND APPLICANTS

Perth and North Perthshire MP, Mr Pete Wishart will be in Aberfeldy tomorrow [Friday] to meet with members of the “Friends of the Birks” group.

The group made a successful bid for funding from the Scottish Government’s Town Centre Regeneration Fund. The group received £320,075 to purchase the former Birks Cinema to allow future renovation as a cinema and concert facility with a café.

Speaking prior to the visit, Mr Wishart said:

“This is great news for Aberfeldy and this award is well deserved by all those who have applied.

“This is a project that has been planned for some time and this grant will ensure that the project progresses.

“This group can help The Birks to be restored to its former glory.”
