WISHART COMMENTS ON CITY HALL LATEST SITUATION
Commenting on Perth and Kinross Council’s decision to pull the plug on the Wharfside proposal to develop Perth City Hall, long-time city hall campaigner, Mr Pete Wishart MP, said:
“The abandoning of the Wharfside proposal for Perth City Hall was sadly inevitable and the council had no option but to pull the plug on their inadequate new proposal.
“Wharfside have clearly been given plenty of opportunities to get the work started and the council has shown extraordinary patience in order to try and get building started.
“However, Wharfside have missed deadline after deadline and they have clearly wasted the time of the council and the people of Perthshire.
“What is important is that this building or space must be brought back into use and the council must consider all options speedily.
“The people of Perth care passionately about the city hall and I am pleased to hear that they will be properly consulted about its future.”
