WISHART & SWINNEY GIVE THEIR BACKING AS LOCAL PROJECT HEADS FOR TELLY VOTE

Local parliamentarians representing northern Perthshire, Mr John Swinney MSP, Member of the Scottish Parliament for North Tayside and Mr Pete Wishart MP, Member of Parliament for Perth and North Perthshire, have expressed their support for a project in their constituency which is seeking significant lottery funding and are urging others to back the Perthshire project in the ‘People’s Millions’ TV vote.

Speaking today (Wednesday), Pete Wishart said:

“The People’s Millions is one of Big Lottery Fund’s funding programmes that gives the public the opportunity to directly determine which projects receive funding and I congratulate all those who have been responsible for getting the funding bid to this stage.

”I hope that as many people as possibly – in Perthshire and beyond - will call in and vote for this excellent project which will completely renovate the existing sports pavilion and recreation park facilities at Ballinluig.

“Upgrading the changing room facilities, fitting a new kitchen, replumbing and rewiring the pavilion building, improving perimeter fencing and parking facilities and renewing pitch floodlighting will provide much needed facilities for community and sporting events.”

John Swinney continued:

“I am delighted that Mid-Atholl Sports Pavilion and Recreation Park have been short listed for this The People’s Millions award. This is clearly a promising step for all those involved and is recognition of the hard work they have all put into the project.

“The work being carried out will be a benefit to all in the local community.

“I wish those involved all the very best for the upcoming vote on 25th November. I am sure that the project will do very well.”
