WISHART MEET'S DALL CAMPAIGNERS
NO TO "MILLIONAIRES PLAYGROUND" ON LOCH RANNOCH
Perth and North Perthshire MP, Pete Wishart, today [Wednesday] met campaigners from Loch Rannoch who have been leading the campaign against the elite £1.3 billion redevelopment of the Dall Estate on Loch Rannoch.
Speaking following the meeting Mr Wishart said
"I was grateful for the opportunity to meet local people in Rannoch to discuss this absurd proposal and join them in their fight to see this ridiculous concept off.
“The plans to build a £1.3 billion pound millionaires playground on the banks of Loch Rannoch is contrary to everything that makes Loch Rannoch a special and unique place in Highland Scotland. Our duty and responsibility is to protect and enhance these special parts of Scotland not desecrate them with out of character developments.
“If this was to go ahead there would be a calamitous impact on the natural environment and the unique wildlife of the area. What we need is sustainable development in areas like Rannoch and to ensure that the environment is at all times respected.
“I now intend to meet the developer to discuss his proposals, but I also want to arrange a meeting where community groups can discuss the impact of these plans directly with the developer and his agents. It is vitally important that something as significant as this development is properly discussed within the local community."
