WISHART TO TALK WITH PITLOCHRY HIGH SCHOOL PUPILS

Mr Pete Wishart MP, Member of Parliament for Perth and North Perthshire, will be visiting Pitlochry High School tomorrow morning, Friday 2nd October 2009, where he will talk with pupils and politics, life as an MP and parliamentary candidate and answer questions.

Speaking in advance of the visit, Mr Wishart said:

“It’s great to be invited back to Pitlochry High School. A knowledge and understanding of politics and the mechanics of how the society in which they live is governed is an important part of young people's education and their preparation for adult life and becoming a useful participant in that society.

“My experience is that young people care very deeply about what is happening around them in their communities, in their country and to our planet. It is up to everyone involved in politics to do whatever we can to engage with that interest and enthusiasm so that our young folk feel included by the political process.”
