WISHART PRAISES FEIS AN T-SRATHA
Mr Pete Wishart MP, Member of Parliament for Perth and North Perthshire visited Feis an t-Sratha, the Blairgowrie Feis, which was held in Rattray Primary School on Saturday. Praising all those involved, Mr Wishart said today (Monday):
"The Feisean movement has done a massive amount of good work in many parts of Scotland, introducing children to Scotland's traditional music and Gaelic language and culture.
"It was a delight to be able to visit Feis an t-Sratha, the first Feis to be held in Perthshire. I was pleased to be able to meet with some of those involved in putting the event together and the children taking part.
"Our traditional music and the Gaelic language are extremely important parts of our cultural heritage and the Feisean are a wonderful way of both passing that legacy on to the next generation and showing young people that music, language and culture can be exciting, relevant and theirs.
"A huge well done to everybody involved, whether that was organising, teaching or taking part. 'S math a rinn sibh uile!"
