Wishart Praises Local Art Project: "New Leaves - New Links"

“BEAUTIFUL, INTERESTING & THOUGHT-PROVOKING” The Scottish National Party’s Mr Pete Wishart MP, Member of Parliament for Perth & North Perthshire has sent his best wishes to everyone involved in an interesting local art project run by PLUS Perth. "New Leaves - New Links" is the latest community project by PLUS,  building on the success of "One Leaf - One Link", a community art exhibition held at Perth Concert Hall in October 2007. Speaking today (Monday) Mr Wishart said: “Well done to all the PLUS volunteers under the leadership of artist Jackie Proctor who have been putting this interesting project together. ‘New Leaves - New Links’  has a springtime theme and encourages those taking part to examine values such as friendship, purpose and belonging - values that matter most to individual and for collective wellbeing. “The work that has been created at local workshops in the community is being posted on a special Facebook page and the project will be rounded off with an exhibition in St Matthews Church during the Perth Festival Of the Arts from 22-27th May. “There are many beautiful, interesting and thought-provoking pieces of art and poetry to be seen and I would encouraging everyone to have a look. “Well done to all involved and I hope that the exhibition finale will be a great success." * * * * * NOTE: To see some of the art works and poems which have been created by local people, go to the project’s Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/PLUSleaveslinks (You do not need to have a Facebook account to view the page More information on PLUS Perth is available here: http://www.plusperth.co.uk/
