LOCAL POLITICIANS WELCOME LOTTERY FUNDING SUCCESS

The Scottish National Party’s Perthshire constituency representatives, Mr Pete Wishart MP, Member of Parliament for Perth & North Perthshire, Mr John Swinney MSP, Member of the Scottish Parliament for Perthshire North and Ms Roseanna Cunningham MSP, Member of the Scottish Parliament for Perthshire South & Kinross-shire, have welcomed news of significant funding success for Perthshire organisations.

Perth Autism Support has secured a total of £5,560 funding from Awards for All to run a year long programme of music therapy sessions and Perth & Kinross Association of Voluntary Services has secured £37,334 Young Start funding.

Mr Wishart said:

“I am really pleased that these great local organisations have been successful in securing funding to help them pursue two very interesting projects which could be of real and lasting benefit to young people in Perthshire.”

Mr Swinney continued:

“This is great news for these organisations. I know from experience that this funding will be used wisely in the cause of improving outcomes for young people in our communities facing particular challenges.”

Ms Cunningham also gave her congratulations, and further welcomed the award of a £10000 Awards for All grant from the Big Lottery Fund to Glenfarg Village Hall, saying:

“Well done to everyone involved with Perth Autism Support and PKAVS  for winning funds for two fantastic projects.  Congratulations too to the folk of Glenfarg who will now be able to develop an outdoor play area beside the village hall.”
