Published date : 04 December, 2012

The Scottish National Party’s Mr Pete Wishart MP, Member of Parliament for Perth & North Perthshire, has highlighted the fact that Cold Weather Payments were triggered within his constituency on 29 November 2012.

Although payments are automatic, Mr Wishart has urged local folk to ensure that everyone who is entitled to a payment, receives it, saying:

“I have been informed by the Department of Work and Pensions that a Cold Weather Payment was triggered at the Braemar weather station on the 29th of November for eligible residents within the PH10, PH11 and PH18 postcodes within my constituency.

“Cold Weather Payments are designed to provide assistance with additional heating costs for people in receipt of a range of benefits.

“The payments are made automatically once they have been triggered but if anyone thinks they themselves or someone they know are entitled but has not receive a payment they should contact the DWP directly.”
