WISHART WARNS OF HOLIDAY MOBILE “BILL SHOCK”

Published date : 27 March, 2013

The Scottish National Party’s Mr Pete Wishart MP, Member of Parliament for Perth & North Perthshire, has shared some important advice from Ofcom , the telecommunications regulator, for anyone using their mobile phone while holidaying this Easter.

Mr Wishart says:

“Many of us rely a great deal, these days, on our mobile phones.  Not just for making calls but for checking emails, accessing the internet, listening to music and watching videos.

“But because we are so used to using them, it is easy to forget that if we are away from home – even within the UK – there is a risk of landing ourselves with an unexpectedly high phone bill when we get back.  And that can really take the shine of a relaxing break!

“So I am happy to share advice being issued by Ofcom to help people avoid that nasty bill shock.

“Ofcom’s new consumer help guides are important reading for anyone planning to go away this Easter.”
