NEW DEBT ADVICE CENTRE OPENS IN ABERFELDY

Published date : 21 January, 2014

WISHART PRAISES "CARING CONCERN AND COMMITMENT"

The Scottish National Party's Mr Pete Wishart attended the official opening, on Friday 17th January, of a new debt advice centre operated by Christians Against Poverty, in Highland Perthshire.

Mr Wishart said:

"It is really is a sign of the times that we have new Food Banks and Debt Centres opening up in towns and villages across the country. But it is also a mark of the amount of caring concern and commitment that exists within our communities that there are so many people prepared to invest their time and energies into making these important facilities possible.

"I welcome the effort that has been put in by everyone involved with Christians Against Poverty to make this service possible here in Aberfeldy and I am very pleased to be here today to wish them all the best for the future.

"Small debts can all too easily become big problems as interest charges and late payment penalties send them spiralling out of control. It is important, therefore, to get the right advice quickly and services like this one make that easier."
