PKAVS FUNDING SUCCESS WELCOMED

News that PKAVS (Perth & Kinross Association of Voluntary Services) been successful in securing a £480799 Investing in Communities grant has been warmly welcomed by local politicians John Swinney MSP for Perthshire North and Pete Wishart MP for Perth and North Perthshire.

The grant will assist PKAVS to develop volunteering provision, community events and engagement. This will involve working with organisations and partnerships in three other local authorities supporting them to build capacity with community engagement

Welcoming the news John Swinney said:

“I am very impressed at yet more excellent news for PKAVS which also represents a very promising development for our communities. Helen MacKinnon and her team should be very proud of the funding success they continue to achieve.

“This award comes very soon after their very substantial Young Carers Award and underscores how well respected PKAVS are in a Scottish context.”

Pete Wishart added:

“An award of this size is outstanding and is a credit to PKAVS’ professionalism and the quality of their work. This funding will directly translate into improved outcomes for people in our communities across Perth and Kinross.

“I extend my congratulations to the whole team and would take this opportunity also to record my thanks to them for all the improvements they, and their partner organisations, deliver year in year out in Perthshire.”
