WISHART PRAISES "WONDERFUL" HAGGART'S OF ABERFELDY

Published date : 28 May, 2014

The Scottish National Party's Mr Pete Wishart MP, Member of Parliament for Perth & North Perthshire, yesterday (Monday) visited Haggarts of Aberfeldy to meet the team that help make it such a unique business. Established in 1801, Haggart's has been tailoring and outfitting in tweed and classic countrywear ever since. All the tweed they use is woven in Scotland, much of it in Aberfeldy. The shop can make tweed outfits to measure and offers a range of unique bags, fashion accessories and scarves. It also offers a range of unique and fun prints produced in store using traditional block printing methods. Speaking after the visit Mr Wishart said: "It was a pleasure to visit Haggart's and to meet with Ryan and Deborah Hannigan and Crawford Campbell in the shop. I am very impressed with the way that Ryan has developed this unique business and the range of products available since taking over last May. "Haggart's really is a wonderful shop and, as soon as you walk through the door, you get the sense of the history of the business. Haggart's is famed for its quality tweed products, but it offers much more than that with Ryan and Deborah developing new and individual products that take that history forward with a modern twist, incorporating Ryan's individual print designs." "To have such a shop in the heart of the town is a tremendous asset to the town and adds to the excellent range of businesses available in Aberfeldy. "Aberfeldy Festival is also the brainchild of Ryan and it was great to hear some of the plans they have for this year's festival."
