SPORTS FUNDING FOR LOCAL GROUPS WELCOMED
The Scottish National Party’s Mr John Swinney MSP, Member of the Scottish Parliament for North Perthshire, and Mr Pete Wishart MP, Member of Parliament for Perth & North Perthshire, have welcomed the announcement that three organisations in their constituencies have received awards totalling £3,344 from Big Lottery Fund’s 2014 Communities programme.
Mr Swinney said:
“Well done to Fair City Rollers, Blairgowrie New Tennis Club and 3rd Perthshire Scone Scout Group who all successfully secured a significant cash boost from the Big Lottery Fund’s 2014 Communities programme.
“This additional funding will allow provision of new equipment and greater participation in sport which is a really positive outcome for these three groups and their Perthshire North communities.”
Mr Wishart added:
“This is excellent news for these local groups and I congratulate everyone involved in securing the funding.
“It is great to see the ongoing contribution from the Commonwealth Games benefiting grassroots involvement in a wide range of sports and activities.”
