CARE HOME OPEN DAY: WISHART VISITS STRATHTAY HOUSE

Published date : 19 June, 2015

Mr Pete Wishart MP, Member of Parliament for Perth & North Perthshire, visited Strathtay House in his constituency on Friday 19th June. Mr Wishart met with the Home Manager, Philip Irvine, as well as staff and residents.

Mr Wishart’s visit was part of Care Home Open Day. All across the country, care homes opened their doors to the public and a wide range of activities were planned.

Speaking ahead of his visit Mr Wishart said:

“Care Homes, play an incredibly useful role within our society and a good Care Home can realy make a massive and positive difference in people’s lives.

“Care Home Open Day, now in its third year, is an important opportunity for members of the local community to learn more about the services at the heart of their community, and it is also a great opportunity for me to meet with some of my constituents – both those who live in the Strathtay House and those who provide their care.

“I understand that this year’s theme is ‘The Arts and Valuing Staff’.  As a musician I know how import that aspect of the Arts can be in people’s lives and I am looking forward to finding out more about the way in which staff and residents are using the creative and expressive arts to enrich their experiences.”
