WISHART RAISES CONCERNS OVER HOUSING BID ON HISTORIC PATH

Published date : 11 November, 2015

Perth and North Perthshire MP, Pete Wishart has raised concern over plans which could see a well-used and historic path obliterated by a new housing development.

Speaking about the route, Mr Wishart said:

“I have been listening to the grave concerns of residents in and around the Craigie area and I am worried about the very real impact that this could have on the local community.

“I am very aware of how busy this thoroughfare is at all times, especially before and after school. It is also very well used by people going back and forth to the hospital. The priority must be to maintain access between Cavendish Avenue and Needless Road.

“I think there are questions which still need answered over the alternative half-mile detour which children would have to make going to and from school and I know that parents are really concern about this.  I have written to David Littlejohn, Head of Planning and Development at Perth and Kinross Council to express my deep concerns over these plans.”
