WISHART PRAISES RESPONSE TO CHALLENGES OF STORM DESMOND

Mr Pete Wishart MP, Member of Parliament for Perth & North Perthshire, has praised the contribution by the emergency services, public sector workers and others who worked so hard over the weekend as Storm Desmond battered Perthshire and the rest of the country.

“The weather at the weekend was truly awful and I want to put on record my thanks and appreciation for all those – in the emergency services, public sector workers and others – who worked so hard to protect people and property, maintain powers supplies, keep roads open and to re-open those affected by the weather and weather related accidents.

“While some of us can take the decision to stay indoors, turn on the fire and watch the telly at times like these we really do depend on those whose job it is to respond to whatever these atrocious weather conditions throw at us and they really did rise to the challenge.”
