Published date : 21 July, 2016

Mr Pete Wishart MP, Member of Parliament for Perth & North Perthshire, and Ms Roseanna Cunningham MSP, Member of the Scottish Parliament for Perthshire South & Kinross-shire, have congratulated music and hospitality students from Perth College who have been given the opportunity to be a part of this year’s Belladrum festival.

Seven students have secured work experience placements at the festival carrying out a number of functions while The Purple Felts, a band made up of students from the BA (Hons) popular music course, have been given the opportunity to perform on the XpoNorth Seedlings stage.

Ms Cunningham said:

“Congratulations to all the students from Perth College who have been given this great opportunity to put the skills they have been learning into practice and best of luck to The Purple Felts, I hope this can be a real springboard to success for them.

Mr Wishart continued:

“I know very well how hard it can be to make it in the music industry so I wish all these Perth students the very best of luck.  The relationship between Belladrum and Perth College show how well regarded the College is for the way in which it nurtures the talents of its students.”
