WISHART WELCOMES KIDS COUNT 2016 ANNUAL INSPIRATION AWARDS

Published date : 05 August, 2016

Perth and North Perthshire MP, Pete Wishart, is supporting Kids Count, the youth-led Charity which aims to empower young people by giving them a voice on the issues that affect children and young people in urban and rural areas across the UK, in the launch of the ‘Kids Count Inspiration Awards 2016’.

The Kids Count Inspiration Awards ceremony will take place at the House of Commons on Monday 9th November and will recognise those individuals, young and old, and organisations that have been responsible for inspiring young people in their communities. Nominations are being sought for individuals or groups who are addressing issues that affect the lives of children by creating initiatives that are grounded in practicality and realism, make a positive difference and afford greater freedom to young people to determine their own futures.

Kids Count is now seeking nominations from across the UK.

Pete Wishart MP is now searching for individuals and groups in Perthshire that provide their own invaluable contribution to children and young people in the community, to put forward for nomination in the ‘Kids Count Inspiration Awards 2016’.

Speaking today (Friday 5th August) Mr Wishart said:

“The Kids Count Inspiration Awards are a great event which recognises those individuals and organisations who inspire young people in our communities. Members of the public are able to nominate individuals and organisations for the award by visiting www.kidscount.org.uk but I am also keen to hear from constituents as there is also a MP’s special award which I am able to put forward for consideration.

“I would be more than happy to hear from those who wish to know more or wish to put forward an organisation or individual for consideration. My office can be contacted on 01738 639598”.

The closing date for nominations for the 2016 awards ceremony is 16/09/2016. For more information about the Awards please visit the Kids Count website at www.kidscount.org.uk.
