Wishart and Swinney welcome National Lottery funding for local groups

MP for Perth and North Perthshire, Mr Pete Wishart, and MSP for Perthshire North, Mr John Swinney, have welcome the announcement that several local groups have been successful in securing National Lottery Funding. The funding, totalling just under £400,000, will go to eight community organisations across Perth and North Perthshire.

Commenting, Mr Wishart said:

“It is fantastic news that several community organisations across Perth and North Perthshire are to benefit from National Lottery Funding.

“Nearly £400,000 will be distributed to eight local organisations that are each helping communities across the constituency, ranging from mental health support, to practical skills training for young people, to baby supplies for vulnerable families.

“This funding will ensure that these groups are able to continue uplifting the community through their incredible work.”

Also commenting, Mr Swinney said:

“I am delighted that so many organisations within my constituency have benefited from National Lottery funding.

“Throughout the Covid pandemic, we have seen clearly the great work that local organisations do, and the positive impact they can have on local communities.

“I am sure that these groups will put the funding to good use, and I look forward to seeing the benefits they will bring to Perthshire in the months and years to come.”
