Wishart and Swinney congratulate Dunkeld on being named best place to live in Scotland

Pete Wishart MP and John Swinney MSP have congratulated Dunkeld on being named the best place to live in Scotland. Their comments come after The Sunday Times Best Places guide ranked Dunkeld as the Best Place to Live in Scotland in its annual list.

Commenting, Mr Wishart said:

“Dunkeld is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places in Scotland, if not the UK, so it is fantastic to see that recognised through such a prestigious accolade.

“I had the privileage of living in Dunkeld for three years, and have fond memories of its breathtaking scenery, bustling centre, and wealth of venues and activities to be enjoyed by all.

“More than anything, it is the terrific local community that makes Dunkeld so attractive, who I hope are very proud of themselves for continuing to make Dunkeld such a special place to live and visit.”

Also commenting, Mr Swinney said:

“I am very pleased to hear that Dunkeld has won this award. Dunkeld is a fantastic place to live with stunning scenery and fantastic restaurants and shops. Most crucially, though, it is home to some of the warmest and most generous people in Scotland.

“Even after 25 years of representing the area, I am still struck by the beauty of Dunkeld – particularly on a cold winter morning or a warm summer afternoon. I am sure that local residents will be justifiably proud of this award, and I congratulate all those involved in making Dunkeld such a wonderful place to live.”
