SWINNEY AND WISHART CONGRATULATE CRANNOG CENTRE’S AWARD

Perthshire North MSP, Mr John Swinney, and Perth and North Perthshire MP, Mr Pete Wishart, have sent their warmest congratulations to the Scottish Crannog Centre on them being awarded the Visitor Welcome Award at the Museum and Heritage Awards 2023.

Commenting on the award, Mr Swinney said:

“This award is fantastic news for the Crannog Centre. Managing Director, Mike Benson, and his team should be warmly congratulated on their efforts in winning this UK-wide accolade.

“There is always a friendly welcome at the Crannog Centre and it is great that the team’s hard work has been recognised.

“It was hoped that the fire, which ravaged the centre in 2021, would not be an end to the project.  The efforts since then have proved that it has been a phoenix rising from the ashes.

“I hope that the centre can go from strength to strength and continue to win similar prestigious awards.”

Mr Wishart added:

““I was delighted to hear that the Scottish Crannog Centre was awarded the Visitor Welcome Award at the prestigious, UK-wide Museum & Heritage Awards 2023.

“I cannot think of a more deserving winner, with the staff’s proactive and personalised approach to customer service and accessibility being second to none.

“It is fantastic to see so many positive things happening at the Scottish Crannog Centre after 2021’s devastating fire, which is a testament to the enthusiasm and dedication of the whole team there.”
