Wishart and Swinney congratulate local businesses on award wins

 

 

Pete Wishart MP and John Swinney MSP have congratulated the five local businesses that won awards at the 2023 Scottish Hospitality Awards. Dubbed as the most prestigious event in Scotland’s hospitality industry, the awards took place on Tuesday 16th May at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Glasgow.

 

The Scottish Hospitality Awards “celebrate excellence in Scotland’s vibrant hospitality industry. With a focus on recognising outstanding businesses and individuals, these awards highlight the very best in hotels, restaurants, bars, spas, and other sectors within the industry. The awards aim to inspire excellence, foster innovation, and promote the highest standards in Scottish hospitality.”

 

One of the biggest winners of the evening was the Salutation Hotel in Perth which won ‘Hotel of the Year Overall Winner’. Other local winners included: Scotland’s Spa Hotel in Pitlochry for ‘Spa Hotel of the Year’; Blair Castle Caravan Park in Pitlochry for ‘Best Caravan Park’; Blair Castle for ‘Tourist Attraction of the Year’ and the Waterfront Restaurant Within the Kenmore Club in Aberfeldy for ‘Casual Dining Restaurant of the Year Central’.

 

Commenting, Mr Wishart said:

 

“I am thrilled to see so many local businesses come out on top at this year’s Scottish Hospitality Awards. This is a testament to the incredible array of top tier establishments in Perthshire, and to the hard-working staff who keep them running.

 

“These successes also demonstrate the remarkable resilience of Perthshire’s local businesses after several years of unprecedented economic turbulence. I hope that the awards will help to l attract even more visitors to these fantastic venues and I encourage all readers to remember to support local wherever possible.”
